ARISE AND ACT FOR THE KINGDOM
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. 2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you (Isaiah 60:1-2, KJV).
Verily, verily the earth is in a thick darkness. As the minds of men are becoming blind to God and the dignity of manhood, confusion and turmoil are spreading across the nations. We see the menace of poverty, diseases, terrorism, war and various troubles ravaging. Yet the highest degree of darkness resides in the human mind whereby in subtle manner, sinful acts which are merely comparable to such of beasts as it were in Sodom and Gomorrah are being legalised and propagated under the guise of civilization and they are turning out to becoming part of the normal daily life of men.
Unsurprisingly though, all these events signals the end time as prophesied. In the midst of these, the Lord God Almighty is calling us Christians to arise to the task He has commissioned us for, which is to shine the light of Jesus Christ to expel the darkness veiling the minds of men.
Ultimately, Satan is working assiduously to oppose the reign of the LORD'S anointed - Jesus Christ on earth (Psalms 2:1-3), but we Christians have the responsibility to arise and cause the kingdom of our God to come (Matthew 6:10).
As the light of the world (Matt 5:14), we must arise to give sight to this blind world and restore sanity to the human culture. Strategically, it is for this purpose the Lord is placing us His children in positions of power and influence both locally and internationally; to enable a strong opposition against the counsel of the Devil that is spreading fast. It is therefore pertinent for us to use this positioning as platforms to reach men for Jesus and influence their minds with the truth.
As God's workmanship created in Christ (Eph. 2:10) it would be wrong for us to take this divine arrangement as opportunities to merely amplify our career profile, build fame or mount wealth.
Very hugely, the Lord is counting on us to go and reflect Jesus in all sectors of human endeavour - business, education, government, media, arts, et cetera (John 1:4). We can not all operate from or on the pulpit but we can each turn our trade or profession to a pulpit for our God. The Hebrew youths only needed to take a stand for their faith and the truth, use their gifts to introduce the Almighty God and gain grounds in the strange land of Babylon (Daniel 3:26-29).
Beloved, we must not any longer afford to watch anti-God activities (gay marriage inclusive) advance in our world. Shall we arise to erect altars of worship for Jesus the King of kings and exalt Him to establish His kingdom against the traditions and policies of men. Shall we arise and act like Joseph of Arimathea, a public officer within Pilate's council who catered for the body of our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 23:50-53) to cater for Jesus' mission.
The action point for us is to ARISE and SHINE. To arise in faith, obedience, purity and propagation of the Gospel for the sake our Lord Jesus - speaking the truth without fear. Remember, the truth sets free (John 8:32). The kingdom of our Lord must come and His will must be done on earth (Matthew 6:10).
Master Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16: “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven (The Message).
The world currently is in confusion and must be helped, beyond solving the problems of climate change, insurgency, economy crunch and other global problems array. The poor souls must be reached and enriched with the life of Christ (John 1:4), the famished souls have to be fed with the bread of life (John 6:48-51) and the lost souls must be found (Matt. 10:6).
Hereby, as we wait on the Lord to send His revival fire in our time, we must arise to our assignment. For how long shall we be silent, reserved or diplomatic in matters that concerns the Kingdom of our Father. If brother Paul, a lawyer could actively defy anyone and anything that stood against the knowledge of God, what stops us? Nothing!
Therefore, my comrades let us arise, with the shield of faith, the breastplate of righteousness and the power of the Holy Ghost to lift the banner of the kingdom of our God. We must frustrate the scheme of Satan, the Archenemy of our Lord Jesus Christ and establish the kingdom of our God in the hearts of men.
The kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ must come, it must not suffer loss.
ARISE!
