Catch that idea
"Catch that idea and keep it
before it flies."
Let’s break this down!
Often times, ideas come like mosquitoes
which perches on you; pierces and bites your heart and then flies away after a
while. If you don't catch and keep them within a moment, they may be forever
gone. Just like a flash of light that cannot
be held with the hand, ideas visit and travel back without notice of farewell.
For this reason,
it is important
that you learn to take notes of your ideas. A faint pen is better than the
sharpest memory. Make it habitual, to write down your thoughts, whenever and
however it comes. Never assume you can remember all that flashes through your
mind, that's a costly gamble.
When you write down your ideas,
commit time to brood on them for development.
What will turn around things for
you may begin with just a line of thought. Learn to pay attention and take
notes. Ideas are like visitors that seek attention and recognition. If they are
well recognized they stay, but if not, they leave.
The attention you give to your
ideas determines how much you value them and how well they will materialize.
Ideas grow and hatch in the incubation room of thoughts. The more deeply you think the
more refined and structured your ideas become. Idea development can be mentally
tasking, but worthily rewarding. There are a number of steps involved in idea
development. These include;
1. Start
by choosing the idea that you would like to develop
2. Write
at least three strengths of the idea
3. Write
at least three suggestions on the effects the ideas could help create
4. Think
about the challenges you see related to the idea, and finally
5. How
can the challenges be overcome
You can only develop
what you have. Hence, ensure that you are circumspect enough to "Catch
and keep ideas when they flash through your mind before they evaporate."
