Who is Jesus 1?

Describing the Lord Jesus Christ in words is actually infinite and ineffable, reason being that for the human mind He is unfathomable. We can only highlight just a few of the much the bible tells us about Him. Understanding of the bible comes by revelation which comes by searching. Therefore, searching for Jesus is proportional to knowing Him. The extent or depth to which any man can know or understand Jesus is dependent on how much such one pants for Him and digs into the bible, for therein is His personality revealed.

The first fact to establish about Jesus Christ is that He is the Son of God - the only begotten Son.

Matthew 3:17 "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (KJV)

God, the Almighty Lord, our creator personally publicly pronounced Jesus Christ His "beloved Son" through His Spirit in the form of a dove. Being God's Son, it is implied that He is a Prince - heir to God's throne (Acts 5:31a, "Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour.....") because the Father is the King of kings. Jesus is the Father's favourite in whom He is well pleased. No other one! The Father loves Him so dearly.

Secondly, Jesus is the Saviour of the world.
Matthew 1:21 "And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." (UKJV)

God the Father named His dear Son, Jesus, which means "God saves." Saving mankind from sin and eternal damnation is the main purpose of His coming to the earth. Through His suffering, shedding of His blood and death on the cross Jesus delivered humanity from the power and dominion of Satan and Sin (the flesh) and everything associated with them such as sins, death, suffering, et cetera. Because He is the only begotten Son of God, Him alone is qualified to die and save us so that we can be initiated and adopted into God's family as children. Jesus is the first born among many brethren (Romans 8:29). Jesus' salvation work was not only a prophecy, it is a reality. Him alone has the power to give repentance and forgive sins (Acts 5:31).

Anyone who will see God and be justified by Him must pass through Jesus Christ by believing in Him as God's Son and the Saviour who died for the sins of the whole world. Such must be washed in Jesus' blood. It takes being born again to see and enter the kingdom of God. Being born again is willfully accepting the life of Christ Jesus by believing in Him; forsaking the life of sin (which is the old life). It is a transformation experience that enables one to receive the Spirit of God who works in the soul to bring forth the nature of God in man after the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Then Peter said, ‘Only Jesus can save people from the result of all the wrong things they have done. There has never been another person in the world that could do this. God has not given any other man the authority to save us.’ (Acts 4:12, EasyEnglish).

There is no alternative to salvation, no substitute to Jesus. Anyone who will have eternal life guaranteed and enjoy life on earth with fulfilled purpose must personally surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one can have access to God the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Because He is the way, unless you submit to Him as your Lord He can not lead you to His Father. In His presence is fulness of joy and eternal pleasure. He is the life you need to exist forever in peace.

Jesus is love. He came and gave Himself to die for our sins because He loves us. He loves the sinner but not his/her sins and that is why He wants the sinner to repent. Jesus does not want anyone to perish. He is a friend who is much interesed in your wellbeing and He seeks to partner with you into eternity.

This He says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20, KJV).
Jesus wants to live and reign in your heart and that is the door He comes knocking, calling tenderly. The questions are, have you seen the need for Jesus in your life? Will you respond to His loving, friendly proposal? If you truly will, a short prayer is enough for you to reconcile with Him and begin your journey to the kingdom of heaven. In your prayer, acknowledge your sins and ask Jesus for forgiveness. Invite Him into your heart as your Lord and Saviour and pledge your allegiance to Him henceforth. You can be sure, He will respond to you.
Shalom!
